Enjoy your children during visits with them

On Behalf of | Jan 4, 2019 | Visitation

Spending time with your children might be a highlight of your life. When you don’t share custody of them but have visitation, you need to make the most of the time you have with them. There are many ways that you can do this. Ultimately, you have to find ways that help you to make positive memories with them.

We know that you might not feel like you have enough time with the kids. Instead of focusing on this and allowing this negative perception to cloud the time you have with them, focus on enjoying them while you’re together. There are many things you can do to make this happen.

It might be tempting to go out and always do activities together. While this is certainly an idea, you might also want to spend time alone bonding with the kids. This can happen with a family game night or a movie night at home.

Before you embark on visitations with your children, make sure that you understand what is included in your parenting plan. The terms of this plan might have a direct impact on what you are able to do with the kids. For example, some orders might require you to get permission from the other parent or the court before you travel a certain distance or out of state with the kids. Make sure you remain in compliance with these terms so that you can continue to spend time with your children.

When there are issues with the visitation schedule or the terms of these visits, you may need to turn to the court for a modification. We can help you handle this.
