Creative custody solutions are sometimes best

On Behalf of | Sep 7, 2018 | Child Custody

Now that school is back in session, divorced parents are finding out that there are some changes necessary for the child custody schedule. If you are in this position, you should try to get those hashed out now so that you can settle into the new routine.

In many cases, working directly with your ex is one of the best ways that you can do this. Sit down with them and try to figure out what is going to work for everyone. Oftentimes, this is the faster and much less costly option than having to go back to court.

We know that you might need some help figuring out how to make everything work now. Creative custody agreements aren’t always easy to come up with. By putting our heads together, we might be able to come up with something that puts the kids first without putting too much stress on you or your ex.

One thing to remember about the changes you make is that they don’t have to be permanent. Instead, you and your ex can use a fluid custody arrangement that lets you work around the child’s schedule and your own schedule. Even if this is the solution now, you should still have a more rigid plan to fall back on if the fluid arrangement doesn’t work.

It is always a good idea to have a solid plan in place but being willing to be flexible when necessary can give you the solution that you need. We can help you work through finding out the best options that you can so that everyone can benefit from the arrangement.
