Think about summer plans now to avoid last-minute stress

Even though it seems like you have a long time before the summer, now is the best time to start thinking about the vacation plans you need to make for then. Taking care of at least the tentative plans now gives you time to ensure that you can work things out with your ex. It also gives you a chance to plan for time off work and handle similar points.

Before you start making plans for a trip, make sure that you review the parenting plan to find out if you have any restrictions. Typically, vacation plans will trump the normal visitation schedule, but you should still try to work out the dates with your ex so that there aren’t any conflicts.

There is a chance that you might need to alert the court to the travel plans. This is another thing that you should do as early as possible. Ideally, you will get all of these components handled before you make any nonrefundable deposits for the vacation.

We know that this might seem like a lot of trouble just to be able to make memories with your children. We can help you evaluate the situation to ensure that you are taking care of what you must do. This reduces your stress so that you can enjoy the vacation planning just as much as you will enjoy spending time with your kids while you are gone.

As you are working with your ex, remember that they might need you to work with them on their vacation plans. Try to be flexible about this since they just want to make memories with the children too.
